Certifications and guarantees - Yarrah

Yarrah organic petfood is certified and guaranteed by the following organizations:

Skal/ EKO

Skal/ EKO More and more producers want you to believe their products are organic. The only way to be absolutely sure that a product is organic, is to look for a hallmark on the packaging. In the Netherlands this is the EKO hallmark. Whenever this hallmark is allocated to a product, the organic origin of that product is guaranteed. Skal is the only independent international inspection organisation for the organic production in the Netherlands that can grant permission to use the EKO hallmark. In order to gain permission to use the EKO hallmark all organic producers, farmers as well as processors, are constantly supervised and checked upon by control authorities from Skal. Because of these extensive measures of control and supervision, the quality and organic origin of all EKO products is absolutely guaranteed. Skal is part of the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, Nature Preservation and Fishing.

Debio

Debio deals with the inspection of organic production in accordance with the Norwegian "Regulations on the Production and Labelling of Organic Agricultural Products". The inspection services are based on an agreement with the Norwegian Food Safety Authority, and the regulation is based on the EU Concil Regulation 2092/91. It covers farming, processing, import and marketing of organic agricultural products. Debio ensures that farms and fish farms, processing and marketing enterprises, importers and others follow the regulations for organic production, and meet the requirements for marketing organic products under Debio's Ø-label.

Petfood not tested on animals

Yarrah has been recognized and certified by the Vereniging Proefdiervrij (Dutch Association for replacement of Animal Testing). Founded in 1897, Proefdiervrij is a non-governmental organisation whose activities are exclusively sponsored by its members. At present, over 50.000 Dutch citizens support Proefdiervrij. Proefdiervrij aims at abolishing all scientific experiments on animals in the Netherlands. Its focus is on the promotion of alternative methods of research. By means of public activities (such as petitions and demonstrations) and by bilateral dialogues, Proefdiervrij seeks to raise awareness of the plight of laboratory animals. Proefdiervrij urges politicians, the scientific research community, and industries to abolish testing on animals altogether.
