Soapnut quality comparison

Soapnuts are harvested from soap trees which all belong to the sapindus family. Soapnuts come mainly from two countries: India and Nepal. Two kinds are found in our shops :

Sapindus Mukorossi (large nuts)
Quality: very good to excellent
Sapindus Mukorossi
Sapindus Trifoliatus (small nuts)
Quality: insufficient to bad

Sapindus Trifoliatus

Colour: brown- honey
Thickness: very thick
Sensation to the touch: very sticky
Surface appearance: shiny
Saponin content: very high
Country : Inde

Selection: our soapnuts are strictly selected and sorted in order to guarantee irreproachable quality. We pay our wholesaler 20% more for them so that he can guarantee this careful selection among the lots.

Use in machine: you will be happy to note that our soapnuts wash better than those which you will find in most of our competitors and they don't need softener!

Selling price: our soapnuts are more expensive than those of our competitors because they are selected in the lots and because we practice fair trade.

Our soapnuts are Ecovcert certified.

We say:
pay a bit more for your nuts from our company, but get a quality product.

Colour: grey – black
Thickness: very thin
Sensation to the touch: not sticky
Surface appearance: matt
Saponin content: very low
Country : Nepal

Selection: these soapnuts come from the leftovers of selections made in the original countries. These are the rejects from the selection.

Use in machine: if you use these nuts you will disappointed. Your linen will not be washed well and stain will remain on your clothes. You will then get the idea that all soapnuts wash just as badly, which would be a shame!

Selling price: very low

We say: the quality of the wash will be proportionate to the price you pay. You pay less, you get less!
